Volunteer With Us
Thank you for your special interest in volunteering with Doctors On Call (D.O.C., Inc.). It is our hope that a considerable amount of self selection will take place. Included in this information is our application. If, after reading this information very carefully, you feel you meet the minimum requirements and would like to volunteer with D.O.C. please fill out the application and submit it.
Who is needed?
The organization mainly recruits experienced medical personnel, such as physicians (general practitioners and specialist), general surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to carry out its programs. We also need experienced non-medical personnel (i.e. technical skills or previous logistics or administration or finance work).
Specialists, such as surgeons and anesthesiologists, are most frequently placed in the field. They are assigned missions for a minimum of two weeks. Doctors trained in public health, and nutrition are particularly useful for the preparation and follow-up of our programs. Some missions may call for the services of pediatricians and obstetricians/gynecologists.
Registered Nurses generally spend two weeks in the field. Work experience in the developing world is highly recommended.
General and Medical Practitioners are needed for training, education, clinic work and teaching.

Regrettably it is not always possible to accept the services of all willing and capable professionals. The parameters of D.O.C. project accommodates highly trained specialized practitioners, but we cannot allow for placements on the field for individuals with limited availability or work experience.
