Medical Team

Each project team is composed of Doctors On Call volunteers and local staff. An average team has 4-12 D.O.C. members and up to 10 local staff members, each team is managed by a project coordinator. Volunteers work in collaboration with local staff members and generally supervise their work and provide training on medical techniques. Local staff assist volunteers by helping them to better understand the needs of the patients and the overall social and cultural context. The team is supported by the Board of Directors who visit the projects regularly and provide advice on program planning and management.
