Medical Doctor

Responsibilities:

    Medical doctors have two main responsibilities providing curative care and teaching/administration. The curative care generally takes place in the clinic setting and to some degree in the existing hospitals. The teaching and administrative responsibilities include supervising and training local medical staff, planning the medical program, ordering necessary medicines and medical supplies, conducting studies and measuring and reporting on medical activities. The balance between curative and teaching/administrative responsibilities will vary by project.

Requirements:

    - valid license
    - two years of practical work experience following completion of medical school
    - completion of residency is highly desirable

Assets:

    - minor surgical experience
    - public health experience
    - teaching or supervisory experience
    - strong management skills
