Dr. Stone was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He was awarded a full academic scholarship to Rutgers’s College by the United States Air Force (USAF). He graduated from Rutgers’s College, receiving an officer’s commission in the United States Air force, in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Upon graduation he was accepted into the class of 1985 at Morehouse School of Medicine and received his Doctors of Medicine degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Dr. Stone received his surgical training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. He also completed two urological fellowships in Neuro-urology and erectile dysfunction.
He has performed screening in over 60 sites and has screened over 2,000 African American men for prostate cancer through the New York Urban Prostate Cancer Screening Program, which he created.
Dr. Stone is member of the Cancer Awareness Network for Immigrant Minority Populations (CANIMP) steering committee, and founder of the Black Health Network, Inc.
Dr. Stone joined the D.O.C. medical team in 2003. He lives in New York City.
