Dr. Ellis is a Jamaica native. He was born in St. Andrew and educated at Wolmer’s Boy’s School. After immigrating to the United States, he attended Cornell University, and in 1996, graduated from the Temple University School of Medicine. He went on to complete his residency in General Surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons – Harlem Hospital Center, where he is presently a member of the faculty as an Assistant Clinical Attending.


Dr. Ellis has done scientific research at each level of his education. His most recent publishing credits include: Male Breast Cancer: A Clinico-Pathologic Study of Prognostic Indicators and Outcome (2000); Abdominal Compartment Syndrome (2001); and, Hepatocellular Carcinoma (2002).

In July 2003, he will commence a fellowship in Trauma Surgery and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Ellis joined the D.O.C. medical team in 2003. He currently resides in Harlem, New York with his wife and daughter.
